The temporary fix<\/h3>\n

After a full house renovation that doubled their home\u2019s size, Jay and Lissa had their contractors install\u00a0some closet doors.<\/p>\n

A few simple shelves were added to temporarily accommodate what would one day be their new master bedroom\/linen closet.<\/p>\n

That was eight years ago.<\/p>\n

\"Linen<\/p>\n

It was supposed to be a temporary fix to an awkward space. The closet stands in the middle of the top story of the house.<\/p>\n

It reaches to the roofline, twelve feet high and decreases by one-foot increments to four feet high \u2013 in other words it\u2019s a big triangle.<\/p>\n

The hallway access to the full height linen closet sported widely spaced, deep wood shelves that reached through to the master closet.<\/p>\n

With no wall between them, blankets and other linens often got pushed into the master side and clothing piled up next to sheets.<\/p>\n

A DIY closet\u00a0fail<\/h3>\n

They installed a makeshift hanging rod for Jay\u2019s shirts and relegated Lissa\u2019s dresses and skirts to a closet in another room.<\/p>\n

They repurposed a couple of shoe racks into additional shelving and stored luggage on the highest shelf to make the space more workable.<\/p>\n

\"Messy<\/p>\n

But Lissa\u2019s frustration grew. The unfinished wood shelves caused numerous pulls on sweaters and towels and it wasn\u2019t fun running around the house just to get dressed everyday.<\/p>\n

It was time to organize the closet\u00a0properly.<\/p>\n

Online tutorials for measuring and purchasing DIY racks, drawers and shelving was briefly considered but the awkward dimensions of the space proved too challenging a layout for mere mortals. It was time to call the experts.<\/p>\n
